In this unit of work you will solve an information management problem. Your solution will use a combination of a word processor, spreadsheet, database and presentation software. It must use at least two of these tools. In 91070 you provide evidence that you understand the concepts in 91071 you show that you can implement the proceedures, know it and do it in other words.
It is assumed that you already have many of the software skills required to complete this assessment. In Year 10 Computing you were required to make a database. You had to create tables to store data, create an input form to put data into the system and then you had to use the database to solve problems. You will also have used word processing or presentation software to present your work in a range of subjects through out the school. You will already be able to organise text and graphics on the page.

The Problems
A local marae is having a hui. The komatua have asked you to contact members of the iwi to let them know about the event. They would also like you to propose and cost a menu for lunch at the hui.
A family wedding is approaching your parents have asked you to produce a guest list, invitations, and table place names.
You are going to start a dating agency. You are going to need a list of daters and promotional information for the daters.
Your own problem. Check with your teacher before proceeding.
The Solution
Read both standards thoroughly. Read them again. You need to constantly refer to the standard to ensure that all the criteria are met.
You need to produce a written report for each standard. There is a 14 page limit on the report and the font must be arial black. Cutting and pasting from the internet or anywhere else is not allowed. If you cut and paste material your report will not be submitted.
